How to actually network on LinkedIn
6 proven steps to build meaningful connections:

Imagine walking into a room of 28,000 people, all eager to connect, share ideas, and collaborate with you.
Eight months ago, that felt completely out of reach for me.
My LinkedIn network was just a few hundred connections.
Mostly people I’d worked or studied with.
It felt stagnant, and I wasn’t sure how to change that.
Today, that “room” is real.
My LinkedIn network has grown to over 28,000.
It didn’t happen because of a lucky break or a viral post.
I followed a simple, repeatable system focused on building meaningful relationships.
And the best part?
You can do it too.
Here’s the six-step process I used:
1. Start with likes

The easiest way to get noticed is by engaging with other people’s posts.
Liking content may seem basic, but it’s a powerful way to appear on someone’s radar and show genuine interest in their ideas.
2. Leave thoughtful comments
Once you’ve consistently liked posts, step it up by commenting.
Add value to the conversation, ask questions, or share insights.
Thoughtful comments don’t just get noticed.
They invite others to engage with you too.
3. Build your tribe

Look for people who interact with your posts or respond to your comments.
These are your people.
Send them a connection request and focus on building a network of like-minded professionals who share your interests.
4. Start meaningful conversations
After connecting, send a personalized message to start a conversation.
Mention their work, share a compliment, or ask about something specific they’ve posted.
These genuine interactions create the foundation for lasting connections.
5. Take it to a coffee chat

When conversations progress naturally, suggest a virtual coffee chat or meeting.
This is where relationships deepen.
It’s an opportunity to learn more about each other’s goals and explore ways to support one another.
6. Collaborate for growth
The strongest connections often lead to collaboration.
Co-create content, host a webinar, or simply amplify each other’s work.
Collaboration helps you reach new audiences while solidifying your relationship.

Growing my LinkedIn network to 28,000 wasn’t about chasing numbers.
It was about building trust, adding value, and showing up consistently.
The numbers followed as a natural result of those efforts.
Here’s the truth:
Your LinkedIn network is only as powerful as the relationships within it.
Focus on building trust, offering value, and showing up consistently.
The opportunities will follow.
Your next collaboration, client, or breakthrough connection is out there.
Waiting for you to take the first step.
