- Is your profile costing you clients?
Is your profile costing you clients?
Here are 5 tips to fix it today:
Hey friends,
Let’s talk about your LinkedIn profile for one sec.
We all know the classic advice: “Optimize your profile”
But what does that even mean?

I’m about to break it down in a way that actually makes sense.
Think of your profile like a landing page.
It’s not about you.
It’s about them.
The big question: What do people gain by following you?
Hint: If your profile is more about “I’m so great” and less about “Here’s how I can help you,” it’s time for a refresh.
Here’s how to do it in 5 easy steps:
1. Profile picture: The face of your brand
Your profile picture is your first impression, so make it count.
It should be:
High-quality
A clean, professional headshot
With a vibrant background (trust me, it pops in the feed)
Your profile picture is a key part of how people perceive you.
Make sure it reflects your brand.
Say cheese:

Think of your banner like the billboard above your head.
It should tell your story before anyone scrolls.
You only need 3 things here:
Your social proof (How can they trust you?)
Your call to action (What do you want them to do?)
Your core message (What do you stand for?)
Keep it simple but powerful.
Use this space to tell your audience why they should stick around.
3. Your tagline: What, who, and how
People are busy.
Your tagline should answer these questions in a snap:
What do you do?
Who do you help?
How do you do it?
Try to keep it under 45 characters, but get creative.
And if you're feeling stuck, simplify!
Clear and concise wins every time.
This is where you can share your story.
And while it’s not a make-or-break section, it’s still worth having (yes, I still haven’t added mine, but I should).
Focus on:
The specific results you’ve achieved
Any cool experiences you’ve had
How you’ve helped others
Think of it as some background on you and why people should stick around.

5. Featured section: Guide your reader
Don’t fill this section with random posts.
Use it to drive action.
Your featured section should include something like this:
A link to book a 1:1 call
A sign-up for your newsletter
A link to your product or landing page
This is where your CTA(s) live.
Tell your audience exactly what to do next.
Bonus: Get verified
Trust is everything online, and a verified profile adds that extra layer of credibility.
It’s easier than you think.
Just hit “Verify Now” on your profile, and you’re one step closer to that checkmark.

Your profile is your personal landing page.
Make it work for you, not against you.
Cheers,
Dan
